Description:
This portfolio piece showcases a single-player level inspired by The Last of Us Part II, focusing on exploration, environmental puzzles, and combat strategy in a post-apocalyptic world, featuring a forest setting.
The level is designed in two distinct halves:
First Half: Emphasizes exploration and traversal puzzles, where players must navigate a crumbling environment, using ropes, climbing mechanics, and environmental clues to progress.
Second Half: Transitions into a combat space, allowing the player to engage in direct combat or utilize stealth to evade enemies. The level layout supports varied approaches, with cover areas, multiple paths, and interactive objects to encourage tactical decision-making.
Engine & Tools: Unreal Engine 5, Blueprints, Modeling Mode, Maya
My Work: I handled conceptualization, whiteboxing, blueprinting, playtesting, and lighting to create an atmosphere reminiscent of The Last of Us. I modified the asset pack to match The Last of Us's movement and camera behavior. I used Unreal Blueprints to set up dynamic AI for enemy patrols, stealth zones, and trigger events. Additionally, I implemented traversal puzzles and interactive elements that enhance the exploration experience.
